ISM 2018 - Review

ISM 2018 opened its gates from the 29th January to the 1st February. At the world’s most important trade fair for Sweets and Snacks, 1,647 exhibitors presented their new products to approximately 38,000 trade visitors.

For Girrbach Süßwarendekor GmbH it was the world premiere and debut trade fair appearance for our own brand “Richie’s Bakery”. By the end of the trade fair, we could conclude that we drew a very positive reaction.

Our team had many interesting conversations and established new and exciting contacts which we will deepen in the upcoming weeks.

We are already looking forward to the ISM 2019.

Right before the start of the vocational training, Girrbach received a really special award.

On 28th July 2015, the Girrbach Süßwarendekor GmbH was awarded with the cachet “1A Ausgezeichneter Ausbildungsbetrieb” (engl.: A-1 apprenticing company) by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Northern Black Forest. Andreas Strempel, General Manager of Girrbach, and Ina Gauß, Head of HR, gladly accepted the cachet handed-over by Mr. Wittmann of the CCI Northern Black Forest.

The CCI cachet highly values regional apprenticing companies which outstandingly campaign for the promotion of pupils and young professionals beyond statuary requirements.

As an internationally operating medium-sized company the topic “vocational training” is of high importance for Girrbach. That is why professional trainings for “specialist confectionary technology (m/f)” and “industrial management assistant (m/f)” are regularly offered.

It is an utmost concern for Girrbach to offer young people the opportunity of a high-quality education for assuring them the best possible start of their careers.

As Girrbach is not just only an A-1 apprenticing company but also has A-1 trainees, Mr. Wittmann (CCI) personally used the opportunity during the ceremony for handing-over the school certificate of the apprentice Julia Roth. She successfully completed her apprenticeship in confectionary technology and officially is Germany’s third-best in this field now.

DLG Award for Girrbach
Award-winning products succeed in expert tests

The DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft / German Agricultural Society) Test Center Food has now awarded the company Girrbach Süsswarendekor GmbH from Calw-Wimberg in Germany a Gold Medal for the excellent quality of one of its products.

DLG experts tested 577 products from 62 producers in the International Quality Tests for cereal foods, baking primary and raw materials which include baking mixtures as well as decorations, fillings or glazes.

The focus of the tests was on sensory product analysis, complemented with packaging and labelling tests as well as test parameters based on laboratory analysis.

Clack and Action

In late fall 2013, the administrative district of Calw commissioned avmediafactory (located in Calw/Wildberg) with the creation of an image film, which should present and advertise the business location Calw.

In addition to a handful of other major companies avmediafactory filmed a sequence at Girrbach during the processing of chocolate and manufacturing of our Marzipan Rüblis.

The result is quite impressive and we are proud to be a part of the Calw image film that represents the versatility of the business location so vividly.
